Two recording trips to Scotland gave me incredible raw material for my PhD compositions.

The intention of my trips to Glenshee and Barra was to record multiple perspectives of invisible forces such as wind and air movement. These forces can only be discerned by the way objects move and bend in the eddies and pressures. I used contact microphones to record the movement of branches and fences. We also put microphones under water and buried probes into ant hills. You can hear a montage of these recordings in the track below.

My PhD methodology combines written descriptions with sound design in a similar way to the above but within a user experience built in Unity. You will see more of this work in the captures of the game I will upload in a forthcoming post about my PhD work
